Are you a fan of Las Vegas–bred pop-punkers Panic! at the Disco? Me too! Last week I sat down with the band's totally crush-worthy members, Brendon and Spencer, to get the scoop on "New Perspective" (their latest single), their summer tour with Blink-182, and what they were really like in high school. Check it out.
The young stars of Kevin Tancharoen’s Fame remake stepped out for its Hollywood premiere last night. So You Think You Can Dance alum Kherington Payne
dazzled in an asymmetrical metallic number, which she paired with
Stuart Weitzman’s black satin Tijuana platforms. Last week we watched
Payne and costar Kay Panabaker preview makeup looks for the premiere—click here to view our exclusive photos.

Fame, Kevin Tancharoen’s revamped
version of Alan Parker’s Oscar-winning ode to teen ambition, hits
theaters next week. Yesterday, I accompanied two of its stunning stars,
Kherington Payne and Kay Panabaker, to NYC’s Kenneth Salon at the
Waldorf Astoria, where they consulted Sephora makeup artists Christine
Egashira and Jennie Carranza about looks for the much-anticipated
movie’s red carpet premiere on Wednesday.
Though Payne had yet
to find a dress, she cited Megan Fox as a source of sartorial
inspiration—which prompted Egashira to suggest a bold red lip and smoky
eye. She began by hydrating Payne’s skin
with Make Up For Ever HD Elixer, following with primer, foundation, and
Temptu Retouch powder. She then created contour under the cheekbones
with Guerlain bronzer in Brunette, and added color to the cheeks with
Lorac blush in Exposed. For the eyes, she patted Sephora Universal
Beige shadow on the browbone “to give it a polished highlight without
being shimmery” and used black shadow on the lid. Finally, she lined
and shaded Payne’s lips with Givenchy liner, and blended Kat Von D’s
Hellbent red lipstick with a burgundy shade for depth. “I didn’t think
I was a red-lip kind of girl, but I absolutely love it,” said Payne.
Panabaker, who said she wanted to keep her look “dramatic,
sophisticated, and elegant, but not trashy or sexy,” had already picked
out a dress—a flowy number from Ports 1961 in a palette of burnt-orange
and eggplant-purple. Carranza decided to complement these colors with
natural peach
and brown hues—and play up Panabaker’s green peepers with a soft
cat-eye shape. She enhanced the eyes with a gold powder shimmer from
Sephora, adding a hint of peach shadow, and two deep brown shades at
the corners. She lined the eyes with Make Up For Ever Aquawear
waterproof liner and then a layer of YSL liquid liner, winged our for a
sultry effect. Lips were kept a subtle nude shade with Givenchy liner,
Bare Essentials gloss, and Benefit lipstick in Lady's Choice.
Stay tuned to find out whether the actresses stick with these looks for Wednesday's premiere!
In one of the MTV Video Music Awards’ most unpredictable moments last night, Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for her Best Female Video win to say that Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” is “one of the greatest videos of all time.” Swift handled the outburst with grace, looking perfectly elegant in a Kaufmanfranco gown adorned with sparkling silver sequins. Check out ELLE's recent interview with Swift here.

It was the VMA upset heard ’round the world. In true Kanye West fashion, during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video at MTV’s Video Music Awards, West stormed the stage taking the microphone from Swift to praise Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” —the video he thought should have won. Shocked and confused, Taylor was left speechless before she was escorted off the stage. And although Taylor later got her moment when Beyoncé, who won video of the year, invited her on stage to accept her award the right way, the public can’t seem to turn against Kanye quick enough. Radio stations around the country have dropped Kanye’s music from their playlists to show their support for the country/pop singer. And even after numerous public apologies saying, “that was Taylor’s moment, and I had no right in any way to take it from her,” there still seems to be this gigantic Kanye boycott. So, what do you think? Should Kanye keep suffering the consequences of his heat-of-the-moment outburst? Are you boycotting all things Kanye? Sound off now!
At the show that most girls (and boys) would have given their right arm to attend, there was not one person who wasn’t on the edge of their seat to get a better view of the genius that is Marc Jacobs. A nod to the ‘80s with bright neon colors, mismatched patterns, and Madonna-style hair bows, the show packed quite a punch. A departure from previous Marc collections, Jacobs is giving his customers a way to put childish fun back into fashion. High-waisted schoolgirl plaid skirts paired with contrasting plaid button downs, bold-print jumpsuits not too unlike the ones our moms put us in when we were younger, and floral frocks with the perfect touch of naiveté, the collection had a child-like nostalgia with a perfect mix of modern, eclectic flair. And—hold your applause—we can all breathe a sigh of relief that we won’t have to be traipsing around in sky-high heels: Models stomped the runway in sneakers and totally manageable platform sandals.
