We recently chatted with Cody Longo, who stars in Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, the fifth installment of the Bring It On series coming out on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow, September 1. Find out what the former Abercrombie model thought about playing Christina Milian’s love interest in the movie and why we think he’s about to give Zac Efron, the hailing onscreen b-ball champ, a run for his money!
EG: So tell us what makes Fight to the Finish different from the last four movies. Cody Longo: This one brings a little more diversity into the franchise with the Latino vibe, and Christina Milian really tears it up. I play a character named Evan that Lina [Christina’s character] ends up taking a liking to when she moves to Malibu. Evan is kind of the mediator in the movie—he’s more down-to-earth and doesn’t get caught up in all the superficial nonsense. He concentrates on his basketball and his music, and he’s just doing what he wants to do and living his life, which is also what Lina’s doing—I think that’s why they appeal to each other. EG: As a guy, what interested you to star a cheerleading movie? CL: I thought it would be a good stepping stone into the teeny bopper world, and it’s a cool franchise. There are a lot of closeted Bring It On fans out there who don’t want to admit it, but these movies are fun. Before I got the offer, I made sure I wasn’t going to be playing a cheerleader. I ended up being a basketball player who happens to be the lead boy, and I was able to make him a little bit different than the stereotypical hot guy in Bring It On. EG: What makes Evan different than the “stereotypical hot guy”? CL: He has more layers to him, and he’s kind of a shy character. I made him a little dorky and awkward at times to make it more appealing to everybody because I didn’t want to just be a piece of meat out there.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who stars in the CW’s Melrose Place remake, stepped out to celebrate its premiere Saturday night in a sexy red-and-white zebra-print minidress by Elise Overland. The storied address’s new resident redhead was joined by its current starlets and actors from its original iteration, such as Laura Leighton, who’ll reprise her role as auburn vixen Sydney.
In The Time Traveler’s Wife, Rachel McAdams plays the wife of a Chicago librarian (Eric Bana) with a very unusual genetic disorder. We bet he’d disappear less frequently if McAdams’ character wore the Emilio Pucci number that the actress turned heads in at the film’s premiere last week. —Erin Clements

When news broke out back in March that auditions for America’s Next Top Model would be open to girls of 5’7’’ height and shorter, hundreds went after the opportunity, causing chaos at the casting call. Remember that stampede (someone even screamed “bomb”)? Five tumultuous months later, the votes are now in, and a fresh-faced group of contestants (of course, all under 5’7’’) has been selected for the 13th (!) season of the show. ANTM doesn’t hit the small screen until September, but if you’d like to take a peek at the cast and pick your favorite now, check out the 14 girls on the CW’s website. Lady Gaga’s “Pokerface” already inspired Kanye West to re-work the song into I Make her Say, and come fall, you’ll be able to see the two hit the stage together. As Kanye announced earlier: a co-tour is in the works! No official word yet on where they’re heading, but there are rumors that they might perform in Buffalo on October 4 first. With Kanye and Lady Gaga being two of the biggest powerhouses in music these days, you can imagine that the tour will be huge. "It's going to be one of the most groundbreaking moments in touring history," Lady Gaga told the BBC recently. And besides sorting out all the hectic pre-tour details, the two seem to be getting along like an old couple. “We’re finishing each other's sentences,” Lady Gaga said in the interview. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is getting a modern-day makeover. The classic fairy tale that made us all want to be a guest at the majestic castle where silverware danced and candlesticks talked is being transformed into an edgy teen romance entitled Beastly. In the movie, newcomer Alex Pettyfer plays Kyle Kingsbury, a conceited rich kid who values his good looks and popularity more than anything else. However, after ditching his date one night, his life goes into complete shambles when a spell turns him into everything he hates. With this new grotesque appearance, Kyle is given the impossible task of finding true love in order to return to his normal state. Find out if he manages to break the curse, when the film hits theaters July 30, 2010.

Ex-lovers, best friends, and tween sensations team up in the new song “Send It On,” featuring Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas as leads vocalists, along with Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas, Selena Gomez, and Kevin Jonas. The song is part of Disney’s Friends for a Change campaign and invites viewers to join together and make a difference to protect planet Earth. Check out the some of the lyrics below!

With all the drama going on in Hollywood, a girl can only keep a secret hush-hush for so long, and Wednesday night Jennie Garth reveled a very juicy piece of information. The actress, who’s married to the ever-so-handsome Peter Facinelli (Twilight’s Dr. Cullen), let it slip that Robert Pattinson is in fact dating one of his on-screen co-stars! Jennie told the reporter, “I can’t say if it’s Kristen Stewart or Nikki Reed, because that would be breaking my promise to my husband, but he is dating one of them!” Hmmm…she may be keeping that detail to herself, (for now anyway) but seeing how rumors of an off-screen romance between Rob and Kristin have been circulating now for months, we’re pretty sure they’re the two who have been sneaking around together. However, even though one vampire appears to be off the market, it looks like another one is back on after recently being dumped by girlfriend, Anna Lynne McCord: Kellan Lutz now finds himself newly single. The two had been together since last year and had been having trouble keeping their relationship together after gossip started spreading about Kellan not being a faithful boyfriend. I guess his secretive lifestyle was just too much for the 90210 star to handle.

Whitney Port is like a real-life version of Barbie: she does it all! Not only does she have her own clothing line and reality show, but now she’s partnering up with the cosmetic brand Cargo to create her very own signature shade of hot-pink lipstick. We’re sure this will be a fabulous addition to Sephora when it hits shelves next week. Plus, it’s all for a good cause! Two dollars from every sale will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We think this is a beautiful collaboration, so don’t forget to check out the lipstick Whitney helped design!

Everyone knows that keeping your relationship a secret is a tricky thing to pull off when you live outside of the limelight, but in Tinseltown, it’s pretty much impossible. This proved true Monday morning, as cameras caught Gossip Girl’s Upper East-Sider Chace Crawford and Twilight’s Ashley Greene smooching at LAX airport in Los Angeles. The two were spotted saying their goodbyes to one another as Ashley got ready to board her plane and head out to Vancouver, where she's filming the latest vampire flick. Could this random act of affection mean these two are officially a couple? We’ll keep you posted…xoxo
