Have you girls heard of Robbie Amell? He’s Tinseltown’s newest hottie, and the love interest of True Jackson on Nickelodeon’s fashion-obsessed show of the same name, True Jackson, VP. Recently, we interviewed Robbie, and the former model gave us a behind-the-scenes perspective of life as an actor. He also spilled more than a few juicy details…
ELLEgirl: So, Robbie, which episode of True Jackson, VP, have you enjoyed the most?
Robbie Amell: My favorite episode was when True and I were just beginning to like each other. I had to play her limo driver. At the end of the episode I had to pull a stunt. That was the highlight of the very first episode. It was an all-out brawl, and that part didn’t show on television. I’ve been told that it’s one of the bloopers on the DVD.
EG: Tell me a little about your role as Jimmy Madigan. Why does True have such a crush on him?
RA: In the first episode, I help True and give her advice. I act as a mentor for her, but at the same time, I’m working in the same place she is, so there is a connection. We have some good chemistry throughout the show, and we help each other. She stopped me from quitting my band.
EG: What is your favorite part about being on set?
RA: The whole experience is great. We do rehearsals; there are pre-shoots and live audiences. The fun part is having the live audience taping on Fridays. Having the 200 kids watching you is fun, and it’s an absolute blast.
EG: How long does it take the costume and makeup crew to prepare you for each episode?
RA: I guess I’m lucky, because I’m a guy with fairly short hair. I’m literally in and out of the chair in six minutes. The girls have to do extremely long hair and makeup sessions, because you know how that goes, but Matt Shively and I are just in and out.
EG: Which member of the cast do you spend the most time with on set?
RA: Probably Matt, but I try to learn the most from Greg Proops. He’s one of the funniest people I have ever met. Matt is the closest to my age, though, and I hang out with him off set.
EG: Tell me a little about yourself. What do you like to do during your downtime off camera?
RA: Well, I used to be a sports fanatic. I played hockey, baseball, and football my whole life, and just fell into acting. I never really thought about it. It just happened. After moving to LA from Toronto, I got to experience all the things I didn’t before–like hiking and hanging out at the beach. I go to Venice and Malibu as often as possible. But other than that, I just do regular teenager stuff, like going to the movies and hanging out with my friends.
EG: What kind of outfit do you like to see on a girl on a first date?
RA: A bikini. It doesn’t matter where we go–as long as she’s in a bikini.

I think he's perfect!!! he was probably just kidding around about the bikini. He seems super sweet...I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers, that's for sure! hehe
