This just in: Taylor Lautner will reprise his role as Jacob in New Moon, the sequel to mega-hit Twilight. Stephenie Meyer, author of the best-selling book series on which the movies are based, posted the news on her official website late yesterday. Producers and new director Chris Weitz had been considering replacing Lautner with fellow actor Michael Copon (Beyond The Break, Bring It On: In It to Win It, Greek), but Meyer fought to keep Lautner on board: "I was very much a part of this decision," says Meyer. "My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I'm truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to Jacob's character this year." We are too! —Emily

I'm totally team Edward. But I think Jacob is great. I am so glad they didn't replace him. I mean, New Moon is ALL about Jacob.. and I already retrained my brain into seeing HIM as Jacob.. and If they would've changed him... It would have ruined the movie for me.
