Red Carpet Buzz: Demi Lovato

The starlet of Disney’s “Camp Rock” is proving that she can rock the red carpet too! Appearing at the 2008 American Music Awards, Demi Lovato wore an adorable white tiered lace dress by Gustavo Cadile. We love how she pinned back her hair to show off the halter neckline, and the figure-flattering black sash is sweet! - Claire

Red Carpet Buzz: Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis looked AMA-zing as she walked the red carpet of the 2008 American Music Awards in a sequin and tufted chiffon dress by Jenny Packham. The subtle yet sweet selection only needed a few eye-catching accessories to top off the look, including a silver vintage clutch by Daniel Swarovski. - Claire

Trend Alert: Bows

Designer Alexis Mabille changed our opinion on bows forever when we saw his Spring 2008 Haute Couture Collection covered in Minnie Mouse’s very own trademark. Since then, we’ve discovered that bows are no longer just a tacky embellishment, but a cute feminine twist that add a hint of whimsical sophistication to any look. And now some of our favorite designers are exploring this knotted-chic adornment. Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Forever 21, Tuelste Market and countless others are taking the bow trend to a whole new level, and below you’ll find some of our favorites! Will you be wrapping yourself in bows this season? - Natasha

Mena Shows Us How It’s Done

We fell in love with this recent snapshot of Mena Suvari who was seen in LA sporting some of the hot (or should we say cool) nail and accessory trends this winter. Her indigo nail polish is a perfect wintry hue making blue the new black. And the feather headband (think Hérvé Leger Fall/Winter ‘08) is killer – especially against her pixy-blonde ‘do. We also couldn’t help but notice her necklace which reminds us of Givenchy’s Fall/Winter ’08 decadent chain accents. What do you think of Mena’s accessorized look? - Claire

Red Carpet Buzz: Kristen Stewart

She plays Bella in the movie adaptation of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer’s beloved book—and at the L.A. premiere Kristen definitely looked like the “bella” of the ball! We love her Balenciaga tri-color dress, Louboutin pumps, and Chanel clutch. It definitely doesn’t surprise us that her hunky co-star, Rob Pattinson, admits to having a major crush on her!

Sisterhood Sighting!

Wondering where we spotted Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants stars Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel? Sitting a row behind us at The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, of course! A bunch of writers, directors, producers, and actors got together and had 24 hours to develop six short plays for our viewing pleasure—and for charity: ticket proceeds from the event went toward the Urban Arts Partnership, a non-profit that provides arts education in New York public schools.

Amber and Alexis hanging out during Intermission

But back to Amber and Alexis… though actors like Justin Long, Brittany Snow, Elijah Wood, and Julia Stiles took center stage and provided tons of laughs, the highlight of our evening was talking to these girls! “My boyfriend is in a play, and I have a lot of friends in it too,” said Amber, who is currently filming a new TV series in NYC. “I think it’s a really awesome idea and I think more people should do stuff like this. It’s a lot of fun.”

As for Alexis, looks like she’s going to be Amber’s regular ice skating buddy: “We’ve decided we’re going to go ice skating in the next couple days,” Amber revealed. “We’re going to be each other’s date to the ice skating rink with some hot cider! We’re very excited.”

Want more details from the event? TRESemmé, who co-sponsored The 24 Hour Plays, will be posting behind-the-scenes videos on their new StyleSeeker site, so keep a look out! - Emily

Support National Diabetes Month with Nick!

“Nearly every day I hear from someone like me who says that I make them feel it’s OK to have diabetes and that’s really cool that I can do that,” says diabetic Nick Jonas. Besides writing “A Little Bit Longer”, the Jonas Brothers hit about him being diabetic, Nick is taking things a step further: in honor of November being National Diabetes Month, the cute rocker along with Bayer Diabetes Care has created limited edition silver-plated dog tags modeled after his own personal one (he wears it every day!).

Want to snag a tag and promote the cause? You can buy Nick’s design at nickssimplewins.com for $5; half of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the JoBros’ very own Change for the Children Foundation, and there are two versions available (each tag has “a little bit longer… and I’ll be fine” engraved on the front, but only the diabetic pendant has “diabetes” engraved on the back). Either way you go, you’ll be supporting a good cause in style! - Natasha

Hilary Duff returns to TV!

Hilary’s “Lizzie” days have become a distant memory as this film and music star has officially made it big time in Hollywood. We’ve loved tracking this girl’s success, but we’ve always hoped Hilary would return to our TV screens—and it seems that our wish has come true! According to Variety, Hilary just signed on with NBC to star in an all-new series, and will also guest-star in a few other current NBC shows. Now that gives a whole new meaning to HDTV!  - Claire

ELLEgirl meets Jaslene Gonzales!

We caught up with America’s Next Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzales at the annual Stay in School Concert in NYC along with other performers including Ryan Leslie and Donnie Klang. The event fuses music and fashion to encourage kids to graduate and earn those high school diplomas. Jaslene, who was all smiles at the event, modeled looks by Southpole Clothing throughout the evening. (Jaslene also wanted to hang out backstage as she got her makeup done – she’s such a sweetheart!) Read on to find out why she endorses the event and what she was like back in high school! - Claire Munoz

ELLEgirl meets Donnie Klang!

Backstage at the Stay in School Concert sponsored in part by Southpole Clothing in NYC, ELLEgirl was able to chat with Making the Band winner Donnie Klang – who currently has his new album out in stores. Despite the newfound fame of the R&B artist, we thought Donnie was totally cool and laid-back! He even stuck around to chit-chat with ELLEgirl after all our questions were answered! Read on to find out if Donnie was popular—or went totally unnoticed—back in high school… - Claire Munoz
