Under the Influence

It’s all too common for child stars to outgrow their fame and fade away (remember Aaron Carter?). But we’ll admit it: we’ve been fans of the Olsen twins ever since their diaper days on Full House! We’ve always wanted to know the inspirations behind their coveted styles, which is why we were excited to hear about Influence, the girls' new novel about their fave fashion designers and icons.

The twins’ conversations with Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin and Diane von Furtsenberg (whom they call a “feminine, yet powerful force of nature”) fill the pages of this oversized coffee table book, and it’s a look into their lives that’s not through the lens of the paparazzo. Selena is Trick-Or-Treating for UNICEF!

In the spirit of Halloween, Disney star and teen sensation Selena Gomez headed to Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City to launch the Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF initiative: the program encourages kids to ask for donations on Halloween in order to help children in need around the world. ELLEgirl caught up with Selena at the event and found out her plans for October 31st (she’s dressing up as country music legend, June Carter!) and why she chose to support UNICEF’s cause. - Claire

Rumor has it that 16-year-old Miley Cyrus wants to move out of her family’s home and into her own apartment. We can’t help but wonder what her parents, Tish and Billy Ray, think—especially now that things are heating up between Miley and her 21-year-old boyfriend, Justin Gaston! Did Things Get Ugly?

Lindsay Lohan was scheduled to guest star on ABC’s Ugly Betty for six episodes, but it looks like LiLo will only be appearing on four. What happened behind the scenes? According to the New York Post, Lindsay and the show’s star, America Ferrera, didn’t exactly get along: while an Ugly Betty crew member claims Lindsay acted like a diva and trashed her dressing room, a friend of Lindsay’s says that America was so rude that she made the former “mean girl” cry. Hmm... Although Lindsay and America’s reps insist there is no animosity between the girls, we think it all sounds a little fishy! - Claire
