Did you know there's a whole "movement" (if you want to call it that) trying to make it acceptable for men to rock pantyhose? Yeah, there's a website called (cue snickering) e-MANcipate that aims to "accelerate the acceptance of male pantyhose as a regular clothing item." Uh oh.
Here's what StyleSpleak users had to say about this rather unorthodox fashion statement:
ambiturner says: Uhh, pantyhose for men? What's next, makeup for men? Oh yeah, they already have that. Ladies and gentlemen, the era of the real man has ended. The man of today is a facial-scrub-using, manpurse-carrying, pantyhose-wearing Metrosexual.
wOnky says: There's actually a UK-based ecommerce site called tights-for-men.com that sells a bunch of old lady-looking pantyhose for the man who has no sense of self-worth or dignity. Seriously, haven't people ever heard of long underwear? That's what people should wear when it's cold!

It is just a matter of checking history. Tights were developed by men to be worn by men, as was the skirted garment. Trousers were a result of the horse culture coming on the scene. Men wore tights 300 years ago and earlier. Then there is the looming question: if women can wear what ever they want, why can't men? Isn't it about equality? Or is it equality by convenience only?

I have been wearing pantyhose for about 20 years now. Love the fit and feel of them. Nothing at all wrong with them. I have had 3 girlfriends that absolutely loved it. Not the least bit gay, and have no desire to wear skirts, high heels, bras, or makeup. Not into dressing like a woman. Just like the pantyhose.

uhhhhh, guys get boners all the time..... you walk a little funny for a bit. Maybe flip it up under your belt to hide it. Then, it goes away....
Funny how most (not all) ladies complain about how uncomfortable they are. All I can picture is a D squeezing into a B. It's called denial. Get the proper size. Only then will they fit. I am a 6'2", 225 lb man that wear womens pantyhose all the time. They fit me great. Crotch doesn't sag either.
What gets me is all the closed minded, negative attitudes. I mean, if you don't like them, regardless whether you are a man or a woman, don't wear them, but you have absolutely NO right to harp on me for it. Quite frankly, it would appear that the ones who seem offended, and come out with the "your gay for wearing those" type comments are generally insecure, mental midgets who lack any type of self worth. we call them sheep. "Grandpa use ta mek fun o dem - soz i'ze gonna do it too cuz its all i kno...hic"
Speaking about rights, why is it that when women strive for something (say, to wear pants for example) it's "women's rights", and "fighting for equality" and "just", "proper", "fair", but when men do the same, it's "gay", "outrageous", and "what happened to the men".
Funny, cause as it would appear, a particular sex's views of equality, are generally one sided.....

It is a sad fact that wearing tights or pantyhose seriously damages the mental health of men who do so. The affection that should be given to the woman in their life (assuming they are capable of this) gets transferred to an article of clothing.

Come on girls get a life, why can't we wear what we want, who are we hurting anyway.

countrygirl (and all the other knockers)
I wear pantyhose made for men
They're miles more comfortable than the girlie ones, no wonder you hate them. You should try some mens ones.
In history it was the guys who wore them first :P
What nonsense to suggest that wearing them makes a man less of one.
I thought that Neanderthals had died out, obviously not.

This is hilarious! Most women HATE having to wear pantyhose and shed them as soon as they can. How can guys actually think they feel good? Real men do not wear tights. But then maybe I'm just used to real hardworking non-feminine men because I live in the country. Most women like manly, buff guys. Not metrosexual, men in tights.

I'm a male and have worn tights and pantyhose for 30 years! I love the feel and look of pantyhose and wear them everyday under my pants, and with shorts in the summer. For me they are NORMAL clothing. Thousands of men wear pantyhose and it's high time society got on board with this reality!

Hi,
I am a man that has been wearing tights and pantyhose for 30 years.I do it because it looks and feels fantastic and I think it looks sexy as hell.I couldn't care less what other people think.
My partner thinks they look extremely hot and sexy.I can't wait until it is more socially accepted so more men will go out in public wearing them.
THANKS
TERRY

I love wearing Leggings! It looks so sporty!!!

I think the girls are just worried our legs will look better than theirs! I've seen some girls looking really bad in tights: big holes, wrinkled round the ankle etc. I certainly look better than them!
With shorts I always wear good quality sheer or semi sheer tights in a tan colour to make my legs look evenly tanned. I usually wear sandals, so I make sure my tights have sheer sandal toes. It looks good, I get positive reactions. Only the small minded don't appreciate it.

I'm 25. Male. Straight.
I wear tights and pantyhose and spandex leggings all the time. It's not a big deal. Besides, I like having my legs admired just as much as women do!

I am a 29 year old man heterosexual and i wear nylons. When did clothing become a gender specific idea?Women wear pants and socks too an no one scoffs. Now girls have been staling their fathers dress socks. I just dont see the problem becuase there is no problem lrt the people wear whatever clothing they want.

It should be no surprise that the vast majority of young women these days are so brainwashed through pop culture, fashion and reality tv that they can hardly put two thoughts together to come up with an original idea. They are spoon-fed every thought they have by American Idol and America's Next Top Model. They are told what to think by TV and magazines, and have lost all ability to form their own ideas and reach their own conclusions. It's sad to see, but the majority of women today are nothing but sheep. Most of the time, they don't even know how to be a real women. And what the F*** is with the whole skirt over pants movement. Make up your mind, are you wearing skirts or pants today?
Men wearing hose is something that has, and will continue to happen for years to come. They originated as a male garment in the 1700's anyways, it's women who stole them from us, not to mention pants, but at least we can still get away with wearing those without prejudice. And socks, give me my g*ddamn socks back b*tch! I never said you could wear those.... Seriously ladies, if you find that offensive, then now you know how you sound to us. You can keep your f'ing heels and skirts. We have kilts... Oh wait a minute, you stole those too. Poor Scottish men.

Isn't it strange how we're all blind to the stark truth that only one gender has it's clothing, behavioural, and psychlogical choices made for it and imposed throughout life. Inculcated and maintained from birth by use of ridicule, humiliation, violence and as millions of soldiers can't testify, by death. Guess which gender is most likely to commit suicide, become an alcoholic, experience homelessness, violence, become a murder victim ? Just read the utter, almost obscene, rubbish posted above from people thinking they have the right to tell complete strangers what clothing they may wear - and what their motives might be, and then tell me that women are victims of sexism. Astounding and incredible that those with complete freedom imagine that they are in any way hindered by societal norms. So then girls, if you woke up male tomorrow - having known complete freedom since birth, just how long do you think you'd want to exist before reaching for a bottle of something or other ?

I have worn pantyhose, tights, and women's clothes for years at home discretely. I am not gay and I am married. Does my spouse like it? No., but she is reasonable about it. Why do I wear them? Because I find it comfortable, sexy, and it feels good.
and yes- I am 100% straight. and BTW- I am an 18 year Soldier with 6 overseas tours and 2 combat tours with over 200 Soldiers underneath my command. I was also formerly enlisted in a combat job.

No, I'm straight men, my girlfriend loves with or without pantyhose, it's just a view of your mind, mens have legs too.
Why only womens could have comfort, warmth and beautiful legs ?
Find me only objective reason, just one !...

@emma: I dare say, Emma, that as a woman you enjoy being able to cross the gender divide with impunity. Why then would you want to mock or pass judgement on men doing the same thing?
I am a man that has worn tights/pantyhose for over thirty years and I can assure you that I am not gay!
