Comments

Lindsay

Reading these over with my boyfriend here, we just had to say something about the 2 negative comments - (that just happen to be the only ones showing on the main page, hmmm...)

Sample 1:
ambiturner says: Uhh, pantyhose for men? What's next, makeup for men? Oh yeah, they already have that. Ladies and gentlemen, the era of the real man has ended. The man of today is a facial-scrub-using, manpurse-carrying, pantyhose-wearing Metrosexual.
****Our response:
i) Starting a paragraph with, "Uhhh" only shows that you are a kid with a, "Uhhh" 'beavis & butthead' "Uhhh" mind-set.
ii) Your question mark after "Pantyhose for Men" is obviously coming from someone uninformed in History. Again, Men have worn pantyhose/Tights far longer (100's & 100's of Years) than Women. Check your History, then you can do write-ups.
iii) Make-up for Men also came 1st, again check your History- again. (Look into the fighters of Russian, Scottish, North/South American Indians, Aborigine, Egyptians, Mongolian, etc. decent. And then learn about Max Factor (the guy, not the company).
iv) Do not start a sentence with "Ladies and Gentlemen..." like you are about to say something massive that will encompass all listeners, unless you have something that great, and factual to say.
v) "era of the real Man has ended." What is a "real Man" then, 'ambiturner'? Cigarette, horse, dirty underwear, pock-marked face, Burt Reynolds mustache, rough/chapped hands, jeans only, etc... (???) Men wore Tights for hundreds of years, then stopped for ... about 50 years (keep in mind it never really stopped, only wasn't "Main-stream") (and many in public seats still do like the English 'higher-ups', many Scots (w/kilts), British boys in school uniform, etc) so because YOU grew up w/that not in YOUR mainstream- it, "Tights", therefore makes a Man- a fake Man, and NOT a 'real Man'. Please do some studying and open your mind to more than '90210'.
vi) "Facial scrub" ? Yes, Men nowadays wash their face. And sometimes use soap - referred to as 'facial scrub' by some. Imagine such "Homosexuals" (or at least, Not 'real Men') ruining the world with their non-Manliness!
vii) "Man-purse"? A 'purse' is a 'purse'. The great George Carlin talked about this when ranting on people's stupidity with vocabulary. A purse is, and always has been a satchel to carry ones valuables. In boxing, they fight for the purse. ("The purse for tonights fight is 4 million dollars."
viii) You typed "Metro-sexual" like it is a bad thing. You want a 'real Man' with black-heads on his face, mis-matched clothes, bearded, worry about carrying any type of bag because people may think about those hidden 'gay' tendencies in his head, and a body covered in hair? - Hey, if that is your turn-on, have at it! But the next time you write-in, do it after learning a bit more- because slow folk then print your article out of hate or fitting in / worry of being cool, and then the other slow folk follow it because they don't think for themselves.

Sample 2:
wOnky says: There's actually a UK-based ecommerce site called tights-for-men.com that sells a bunch of old lady-looking pantyhose for the man who has no sense of self-worth or dignity. Seriously, haven't people ever heard of long underwear? That's what people should wear when it's cold!
*****Our response:
i) This one is just a little too easy... "a bunch of..." (like they sort of threw something together?) "...old lady-looking pantyhose" (??) You really tried to create a negative here by saying exactly the opposite. Girls / Women from sites all around mentioned their site as they loved the look of their "NEW / in vogue looking" Pantyhose! "Old lady-looking"??? You mean wrinkled nylons (b/c of no Lycra), dis-coloured / orangeish taupe, ill fitting 1962 types? Easily by looking at their page, all of their pieces are new, many are for Women and look quite sexy & fun! http://tights-for-men.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=47&sort=20a&page=2
ii) (or (iii) "for the Man who has no sense of self worth or Dignity" (???) 1st- "self worth" is difficult to say 5 x fast!
2nd, what you typed does not make sense. If the Man has 'self worth' he feels worthy of doing so! He is not ashamed, as he has such self worth. "I don't need to prove that I am a Man, I know who I am ("i think therefor i am"), I feel quite worthy of wearing something that feels comfortable, sleek and sensual." See also: "Dignity"!
iv) "Seriously..." So, you were not being serious in your sentences b4 this one? Long underwear? So 'tights' are acceptable if they have the 'beaded' look to them, but w/out that look- it makes a man one w/out self worth and dignity? You genius.
P.S. Who mentioned hot/cold?

Some great comments here. We noticed that the 2 comments being shown on the main page are some of the only super negative ones. (is this page in kahootz with fox new$?)

Very well said by Andy, Pat, Kennedy, Brian, Barry, etc.. can't remember them all.
The original writer of this article obviously did NOT do their homework. There are well over 20 different companies that make Pantyhose & Tights for Men.
Levee
Wolford
Smart Hold
Gerbe
Bellystar
Consay
Ergee
Huber
Comfilon
Aries
Kuffe
Black Horse
Shivers USA
Evona
Dusen
Lida
Atsugi
Polarhose
DoYeah
Collanto
Trumpf
Aurel
ela
ActiveSkin
... and many more!
Also, as someone elses comment starting saying, Throughout time Men have worn "Tights" longer, MUCH longer than Women.
My boyfriend wears pantyhose for me - this feels 'too' good when we are both wearing a satiny pair. Now if he were afraid to wear them - because it might be 'gay'- wouldn't that 'fear' indicate the worry of any 'gay' coming out! Why do people who write/start these articles always have a 7 year olds brain?

Nice blog! Here i would like to share that i have seen fantastic variety of flip-flops for men. Those flip-flops give you very stylish look with jeans as well as tights.

Richard

I agree with everyone, women dont want to see guys in leggings or tights. My friend was over years ago and noticed me wearing my leggings. She yelled' :"Richard, what is that you are wearing!" I told it was my Nike leggings. Next time I saw her visit, she had bought some too. She is still a friend. True friends deal with it. My wife also knows about them. She had also asked why I had tights laying on the bed and hanging up. I told her those are my tights and that I wear them under shorts for gym and cycling. She was a little upset but she also said several times she is ok with it.

I am a straight married guy with 3 children. i wear tights under my work trousers in the cold weather. i wear ladies tights, and i do choose the right size for my height.I find these are very warm, and extremely comftable. my wife even buys them for me,and i ask her to buy black in xl size. She does not mind me doing so.
I do not wear them for sexual reasons, but they do feel nice.
Keep wearing tights guys, i am proud to admit it..

B

Tights ROCK! I wear them to the gym and out when it's cold. People are too self centered to really care what your wearing anyway.

If your wearing pink tights, then thats another story entirely....

Bond James

Well, I"ll be darned. I wear tights and have been for years. I'm 52 years old, I have diabetes and could lie to you and say I wear them to improve circulation. That is true, they do improve circulation. They are warm to me in cold weather. Perspiration in my shoes goes away quickly. I wear support hose for the support.

I also wear them because I like the way they feel. They are snug and "push" my legs up all day.

One post questioned whether or not the women who "hate" tights were buying the right size.?
I find if I buy the right size I have no trouble with the fit.
I am heterosexual, 52, married and my wife doesn't mind me wearing them, but i do not wear them openly. I would not want to inflict that on anyone!
Take it easy, folks. They are just stockings. Live and let live.

A friend.

Kennedy

Live and let live for god's sake -- stop the criticism already... wearing tights does not make a male any less of a man. If you're a woman/man who doesn't dig a guy in tights then don't date one, period. It's as easy as that, now get on with your lives!

Jane Blain

All women are sluts! Why would anyone care what they think?

Andy

Andy

I just love the way that they post stupid pics & deliberatly try to make men look gay in order to fling dirt. I am a straight engineer and retained firman I have worn pantyhose as a method of keeping warm under trousers while our in the cold (mainly in winter) for years. why?... for one thy arn't as thick as thermal underwhere and you dont end up looking like the michellin man. Secondly they are comfortable (if you dont buy the 1$ cheep rubbish).... and most importantly they keep the ankles as there is no gap between the foot and leg

Brian

Sounds like the usual hypocrisy to me. Women can wear mens clothes, jeans trousers, socks underwear...anything at all they want and that is called fashion. Men wearing anything at all associated with women is considered wierd perverted unfashionable unmanly. So much for equality.

Barry

It is just a matter of checking history. Tights were developed by men to be worn by men, as was the skirted garment. Trousers were a result of the horse culture coming on the scene. Men wore tights 300 years ago and earlier. Then there is the looming question: if women can wear what ever they want, why can't men? Isn't it about equality? Or is it equality by convenience only?

I have been wearing pantyhose for about 20 years now. Love the fit and feel of them. Nothing at all wrong with them. I have had 3 girlfriends that absolutely loved it. Not the least bit gay, and have no desire to wear skirts, high heels, bras, or makeup. Not into dressing like a woman. Just like the pantyhose.

mark

i love pantyhose have been wearing
them for 10 years
ihave a strong fetish for them
i would love to wear shirts in public
i am a not gay

Pat

uhhhhh, guys get boners all the time..... you walk a little funny for a bit. Maybe flip it up under your belt to hide it. Then, it goes away....

Funny how most (not all) ladies complain about how uncomfortable they are. All I can picture is a D squeezing into a B. It's called denial. Get the proper size. Only then will they fit. I am a 6'2", 225 lb man that wear womens pantyhose all the time. They fit me great. Crotch doesn't sag either.

What gets me is all the closed minded, negative attitudes. I mean, if you don't like them, regardless whether you are a man or a woman, don't wear them, but you have absolutely NO right to harp on me for it. Quite frankly, it would appear that the ones who seem offended, and come out with the "your gay for wearing those" type comments are generally insecure, mental midgets who lack any type of self worth. we call them sheep. "Grandpa use ta mek fun o dem - soz i'ze gonna do it too cuz its all i kno...hic"

Speaking about rights, why is it that when women strive for something (say, to wear pants for example) it's "women's rights", and "fighting for equality" and "just", "proper", "fair", but when men do the same, it's "gay", "outrageous", and "what happened to the men".

Funny, cause as it would appear, a particular sex's views of equality, are generally one sided.....

Cosmo

It is a sad fact that wearing tights or pantyhose seriously damages the mental health of men who do so. The affection that should be given to the woman in their life (assuming they are capable of this) gets transferred to an article of clothing.

Nylondude

Come on girls get a life, why can't we wear what we want, who are we hurting anyway.

countrygirl (and all the other knockers)
I wear pantyhose made for men
They're miles more comfortable than the girlie ones, no wonder you hate them. You should try some mens ones.
In history it was the guys who wore them first :P
What nonsense to suggest that wearing them makes a man less of one.
I thought that Neanderthals had died out, obviously not.

This is hilarious! Most women HATE having to wear pantyhose and shed them as soon as they can. How can guys actually think they feel good? Real men do not wear tights. But then maybe I'm just used to real hardworking non-feminine men because I live in the country. Most women like manly, buff guys. Not metrosexual, men in tights.

Jon

I'm a male and have worn tights and pantyhose for 30 years! I love the feel and look of pantyhose and wear them everyday under my pants, and with shorts in the summer. For me they are NORMAL clothing. Thousands of men wear pantyhose and it's high time society got on board with this reality!

TERRY NIXON

Hi,
I am a man that has been wearing tights and pantyhose for 30 years.I do it because it looks and feels fantastic and I think it looks sexy as hell.I couldn't care less what other people think.
My partner thinks they look extremely hot and sexy.I can't wait until it is more socially accepted so more men will go out in public wearing them.
THANKS
TERRY

Steve

I love wearing Leggings! It looks so sporty!!!
