Kate Hudson always rocks amazing tousled waves. Now you can too without spending all your cash at the salon.
I’ve got no problem leaving my hair sandy for a bit once I get home from the beach. I love what the salt from the sea does to my hair. It gives my pin straight (boring!!) locks a tousled, beachy look that I have never been able to fake. I’ve stocked up on tons of hair products over the years hoping I would someday find that magic potion that would curl my hair. From gels, to scrunching sprays, to hot rollers I’ve tried them all and what I’ve found is that while they do work, they don’t give me that messy look that says, “I don’t do my hair, I just woke up looking this hot.” Since my hair is a very dark shade of brown, when I use certain styling products it can look crunchy and shiny, kind of reminiscent of a plastic bird’s nest. So I set out in search of a product that would give me that beachy look without having to dunk my head in the ocean before going out on a date.
And the winner is: Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray!
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray $23.00 available at
drugstore.com
This spray gave me the waves I’ve wanted for oh so long. The key is in the sea salt which gives texture, hold and volume to hair. Sea salt has the ability to enhance the natural waves that most of us already have. It also gives it a shine-free finish, because the secret to beach hair is keeping it matte so it actually looks like you’ve spent the day at the beach rather than under a can of hair spray.
Get the look:
If you have time, the best way to get this look is to shampoo, condition and then towel dry your hair. Next, add a dab of your favorite styling cream and spritz away. Once you’ve salted your hair from root to tip, divide it into sections and braid it overnight. Let them loose in the morning and, voila! You've just woken up with sexy hair.
Remember, to get this look always let your hair air-dry. This eliminates frizz and actually holds the style longer.
Have fun flaunting those summer locks!

how do you get beach waves in super curly, frizzy hair. I would love to know how to loosen my curls instead of having to completely straighten them away!!!
