Hey y'all,
TGIF! Yesterday I was out all day filming the first two segments of my new do-it-yourself fashion video series, Self Made Girl. It was super fun and totally exhausting!I give major props to Rachel Ray and her kind. My first segment featured a new way to tie-dye with Marsha Welcher, designer of Thayer and the second one is all about making your own evening clutches on the cheap (prom is just around the corner!) They turned out really cute if I say so myself. My day started with Marsha and I in make-up at 7am (whoa early for me!) Then we headed in to the American Apparel store to film our intro. We rolled up to the store in Spring dresses and bare legs (this segment will hit in late April) which enticed stares due to the actual very icy, windy weather. Next we settled down at the studio for the actual "how-to" filming. This took forever and we barely stopped, except for a short Two Boots pizza lunch, yum! After we wrapped, I practically had to un-smile face my face (it was frozen in this position from taping) and use to a brillo pad to remove the glue and dye from hands. But honestly, it was so fun and the crew was super cool. I think this is gonna be my new favorite project
A side view during taping (don't worry you can't see the floor, hence the ugly, yet comfortable shoes!)
Nacho, my cameraman, making sure everything looks perfect
I'll let y'all know as soon as the first one hits the site...stay tuned!
