Charlotte Sometimes hearts us
ELLEgirl: Have you seen any great bands here?
Charlotte Sometimes: I got to see Paper Rival, who we've been on tour with. Also, my friend's boyfriend's band Ben's Brother. Oh, I saw this band the other day at Pure Volume, The Bridges - it's an all-girl band. They were really cool.
ELLEgirl: Tell me about the new album.
Charlotte: I'm super excited about it. It comes out in May. It's a really cool record for all ages. I think it really relates to people who are going through a change. Young girls, young guys who just graduated and are moving out of the house and the pressures society puts on you. I had a bad breakup, that helped too. Half the record is about this musician, so I'm just wondering what he wrote about me.
ELLEgirl: Aw. How long have you been on tour?
Charlotte: We've been on tour since August, and we're going on tour with a band called We The Kings. They're hilarious. And we're doing Bamboozled, Warped Tour. We have a very busy schedule. I feel like touring is really hard for me sometimes, being the only girl. I'm a creature of habit, I like things just so, so being on the road is challenging. You're not getting enough sleep, you're not eating right.
ELLEgirl: What kind of music inspires you?
Charlotte: From Roy Orbison to Van Morrisson, Lisa Loeb, and Postal Service, Death Cab foR Cutie. It really ranges because I was a dancer, for thirteen years, so I listened to all this dance music, and my dad's a folk guy -
ELLEgirl: Like "untz-untz" dance music?
Charlotte: Ha ha, yeah. It's funny because I'm so schizophrenic when it comes to music!

I fell in love with Jessie's music just after your 2004 article. I have been following her career ever since and am psyched to finally watch her take the spotlight! Thanks for both articles:D
