I stumbled upon this pic of the Olsen's at the Chanel Fall RTW show in Paris today and was instantly reminded of home. A women that works at the Neiman Marcus in Dallas (and has for like ages) is semi-famous for wearing these huge black, perfect-circle glasses all day, every day while working the cosmetics counter. I'll admit she looks sort of crazy, but I find her consistency comforting. If her signature look has made her infamous, she certainly is back in fashion now...
The Olsen's arriving at the Chanel show in twin sunglasses- almost as big as their face!
A look from the Chanel Fall show- did the Olsen's get a tip off? On a side note, that frayed denim mini is genius!

Celebrities love to splurge on themselves, but it's still a little shocking to hear how much they pay for basic services like haircuts and hair color. How much do you think stars like Shakira, Mandy Moore, and Jessica Simpson shell out for their tresses? Read on to find out what some CelebSpleak users found out about the high cost of haircare in Hollywood:
cubana says: Jessica Simpson was voted to have the best hair in Hollywood, and its no wonder why! She pays $550 for highlights! Damn, and I thought mine were expensive at $110. See? Theres a reason celebs look like a million bucks...they pay a million bucks to look that way!
jadaluvsu says: When is a haircut more than just a haircut? When you spend $650 dollars on it!!! Shakira recently gave her curls the five-star treatment with highlights and a cut at Oscar Blandi's salon. Hm…now think about how many shoes you could buy for $650.

Mariah Carey, we love you. We might even love your wonky, middle-schooler-meets-streetwalker wardrobe, if only because it is such an integral part of your persona.
CelebSpleak users play fashion critics below:
natalie says: Mimi, NOOOOO!!! Why the shoes? WHY?? I could live with the outdated puffer jacket if only you were wearing some sensible trainers or boots with it. These shoes look like they belong in a circus.
tinytim says: Mariah Carey is above reproach. If she wants to wear a puffy jacket with six inch red shiny platforms that look like they should belong to a streetwalker, then let her. She will forever dress like it's 2001, and for that, I love her.

You know how models always say they have hardship in their lives and they face adversity? Well, Selena Breed—a face of Lancôme—really did! I mean, not like disaster-level adversity, but the career kind. Like when they tell you you’ll never make it.Here’s part II of our Starbucks interview.
Q. You were getting modeling jobs from the age of eight on because people would spot you and want you to model for them. What kinds of jobs were they?
A. "I did some local runway shows, catalog shoots, local newspaper jobs, things like that. It was all through my mom, though, I didn’t have an actual agent."
Q. But it must have been easy to land one when you got older, right?
A. "Wrong! I walked into an agency when I was 17, thinking modeling was what I really wanted to do with my life, and they turned me down flat. They said I could never do fashion shoots—I was an athlete in high school, so I was muscular and not at “model weight,” that’s what they said! They also told me that, at 17, I was getting a little old."
Q. But then you went to college at the University of Georgia and signed with an agency in Atlanta when you were 20. So what happened?
A. "I pretty much defied the rules that I was too old or the wrong body type. Elite liked some photos of me that a photographer brought in, so they signed me. That agency sent me to New York for Fashion Week go-sees."
Q. Ooh, how was your first Fashion Week?
A. "Not pleasant! I was not at all used to going on the hellacious numbers of go-sees and castings they give you/ I got a lot of “You need to practice your walk” comments. I though I could walk! I had done shows, so I was like, “What?” I did book a few shows though, with up-and-coming designers. They let you have facial expressions, walk the way you feel like walking—they let you be you more than the bigger designers do, I later discovered. I didn’t fit into the fashion crowd, but I’ve worked through that now, and I’m okay with it." --MW
Melissa Walker's new book, Violet by Design, comes out Tuesday. For now, read excerpts on ELLEgirl Mobile.
Our fave celeb sighting at Stella McCartney's Fall 08 runway show this morning in Paris? Up-and-coming musician Santi White (AKA Santogold). The producer/writer/singer has had a crazy week--shooting the video for "LES Artistes" in London, re-working one of the tracks on her upcoming debut album, travelling to Paris for Stella's show--but she took a couple minutes to chat with me. More on her music, working with Ashlee Simpson, going to prom, and her all-time fave beach read next week (in our Spring Break entertainment feature). But I did get some insider scoop on Stella's after-party tonight--Santogold will be performing! Snap some pics and send them my way if you're in Paris and are going to the party (lucky!!!).—Rebecca
Do you believe in the power of lucky underwear or socks? Well, Taylor Swift certainly does. And she forgot to wear a very important item to the Grammys, which may have had drastic consequences!
Here's what CelebSpleak users had to say:
ellieinvogue says: A lot of people say that Taylor didn't win Best New Artist at the Grammy's because she wasn’t wearing her lucky cowboy boots. Even though she's been slammed for wearing them on the red carpet, good things happen when she does! I guess her Jimmy Choos didn't have the same effect!
mandy says: If only she'd been wearing her Liberty boots, maybe she would have walked home with a Grammy! I know that sounds paranoid, but I swear, I had a pair of lucky socks once and I forgot to wear them during a test and I got a D!! Hey, whatever works, right?

It's baaaaccckkkk....Okay, so the new (half) season of The Hills doesn't start until next month, but from the looks of things, the formula's pretty much the same: Boys, parties, friends, fashion, and--oh yeah--drama. Lots of it. Lauren vs Audrina, Spencer vs his sister, Whitney vs Teen Vogue, etc.
I have trouble feeling bad for Heidi--she's totally fake (in more ways than one...), ditched her BFF, and is coming out with her own clothing line(!!)--but being with Spencer has got to be the pits. Fingers crossed that they finally go their separate ways this season--and we no longer have to hear about him.—Rebecca
I am completely, unhealthily obsessed with every piece from Justin Giunta's, designer for Subversive Jewelry, collection. His stunning, complicated designs have an antique, baroque feel with just enough modern construction. I was checking out the collection online this morning and felt like I had uncovered treasures from a sunken ship. It is clear this is not just another jewelry collection, but an artist at work.

Before she was an American Idol judge, Paula was a pop star. Most people know that. But do you know what she was even before that? (Besides an 80's fashion icon, see above). Let some of CelebSpleak's users fill you in:
hardcandy says: Paula used to be a Lakers cheerleader! Maybe that's where she learned all those sweet dance moves. I'm sure glad her style has evolved past the 80's though. Can u imagine if she was judging Idol with bangs like that?! I don't think anyone would take her seriously!
fabuufemme: She's come a long way since the 1987 MTV VMAs. That hair...those sequins...the whole thing is oddly reminiscent of a showgirl on St. Patrick's Day. Not good.

When a towncar picks you up after a long day of work to go try this summer's ice cream flavors from Cold Stone, you know you have a pretty good job. But no job could be better than Roy Karam's, the company's official Tastemaker, who made me their new strawberry-banana (or was it banana-strawberry?) smoothie and walked me through 2008's new flavors: Carrot Cake Batter, Blueberry Muffin, Cinnamon Bun and Marshmallow ('smore-inspired Cold Stone creations! Endless possibilities). Karam - who, it turns out, went to the same high school in Brooklyn I did (decades apart, of course) - and I discussed the popularity of acai super fruits and whether bees are really endangered. Then I was shown the new Jelly Belly Cold Stone Creamery jelly beans (available in May) and Cold Stone Creamery lip glosses (also in May, at Claire's Accessories). Finally, you can put ice cream in your pocket without ruining your pants. -Holly
